​​An industry thought-leader in the application of telematics to the automotive insurance and maintenance industries, Fred Blumer is a sought-after speaker and author on the topic.  An entrepreneur able to turn ideas into products, Fred co-founded Vehcon in 2012 after exiting Hughest Telematics, Inc., which sold to Verizon in 2012.

A serial innovator, Fred founded Vehcon, Inc., a connected vehicle services company based in Atlanta, Ga., in 2012. 

Fred most recently was a co-founder of Hughes Telematics, Inc. , a leading provider of telematics services to the automotive industry which was sold to Verizon in 2012.  Hughes provided systems to automakers like Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen, and data services to leading insurance companies.

Fred is a graduate of the Harvard Business School and a former Research Fellow at Kyoto University, Japan.  He has more than 10 utility patents issued and pending in the aftermarket insurance telematics space.
